Poster flat plan

I created two flat plans regarding my poster. I based these off previous posters that I analysed.  As I was set on a photo for my poster, It was easier to base any text or imagery around the picture. Anya’s and Becci had large presence in the photo and I believed the overall effect had quite an impact therefore I tried to limit what was put around the photo. It was important to keep the overall appearance simple and light.
Both posters follow the codes and conventions of film poster. The minimalistic look allowed more attention to be drawn to the two protagonists on the front. As these are my only two characters, I felt it was important to have these two as the centre of attention. The text does not vary much in size, on the flat plans the two actors name appear bigger than I would like on the actual product, however all text is fairly large in order to be readable for the audience.

Comparing both flat plans, the first one I have decided to include a review regarding the film, this is placed above the two characters due to the large space. Lola is also placed below, close to the ‘coming soon’ sign. After drawing the flat plan for this poster design, I thought that the title may appear to close when constructing the product, therefore in the second design I removed the review and replaced it with the title. As reviews aren't always on posters, I felt as if removing it would have huge effect. All text is aligned at the centre of the page in order be aesthetically pleasing. The credits I kept in the same place for both flat plans due to this being a common place in which the convention is placed. In comparison to each other, the second flat plan also included small taglines under each actors name. This was done after being influenced by the research I had done into film posters. I thought that added it more personal touch for the actors and gave the audience a further insight.
