Equipment
Camera: Canon 600D.
To film my short film I will be using my personal DSLR canon 600D. This camera supports 1080p and is fairly light in weight making it easy to carry around to film various shots. The fact it can film in 1080 allows me to film in higher quality to improve the visuals of my shots. This camera can also add attachments such as small soft boxes and microphones. I personally don’t own a detachable microphone which may affect the quality of sound but at this time I am unable to purchase one. Fortunately what the camera does provide is of good enough to produce a loud and clear enough sound.
Tripod’s:
These are the two tripods I am planning on using for my production. The main one will be the …… due to its ability to extend and reach all different levels that my shots can be from. Whereas the gorillapod is often used as an extra grip. This will be what I use outside of my inside locations as I will be able to handle it, giving me more option to move freely, where the ….. has more restriction. Both of these tripods are not essential to my shoot. However these will allow me to produce a more steady and smooth shot which will affect the continuity.
Lighting if needed: artificial lighting from two large soft boxes.
For my production I will most likely use natural lighting as this is a common convention of drama’s. Natural settings are essential. However, if artificial lighting is needed I will be able to use to softboxes for indoor locations. I wouldn’t be able to use these outside due to them being electrical and I am not planning to film outside in the dark anyway.
SD card:
In order to get film for my production, I needed to find a decent SD card to store the amount of footage I take. I will be using a 64GB SD card which allows me to film over an hour of footage in total. It’s important that I have a larger storage so that I am able to fit more footage on in case some shots go wrong or I would like see others in comparison to others. This supports 1080p and footage can easily be burned
