Magazine review page construction

The first step I took when creating my magazine was adding my photos. I decided to use the same photo that I used for my film poster to create a recognisable image for the audience. As my target audience is girls aged 16-26 I felt the photo would be able to grab their attention in both constructions. I added a white border around the two smaller photos to make them bolder against the main focal image. I followed my original landscape plan and included all 3 photos in the same arrangement. Following the borders around the photos, I felt an overall border was needed around the entire page. Black was a neutral colour which helped frame the overall layout. I used the ‘square’ tool to ensure all four sides were equal. I inserted my main piece of text to work out the best placing for the title around the the 3 images used. Similar to my poster flat plans, I decided to play around with two different designs. When analysing existing review pages I came across two types of layouts by the institution ‘Newfilms’ Within my flat plans I tried to cater to both and see which one I prefered. The first one I planned out was a single page review which followed the conventions I researched. The plan is very similar to the new film layout I researched, however I believed this was an effective layout and would work within my own magazine. I chose to use two images within this article instead of one in order to give the audience more insight to the film. The screenshot used as the main focal image was to denotes more about the film and what's included. I also wanted to include the films poster to make it recognisable to an audience. I felt as if including it within both ancillary tasks it would illustrate that is an important part of marketing within the film industry. Both images had to be carefully thought about
