The second ancillary task was to create a magazine review page for our own short film. To begin, I researched into the codes and conventions which then I could apply to analysis and my own construction of the product.

The layout of adobe was originally very confusing to me due to being new to the set however once playing around, it became easier to navigate and I managed to set up an overall layout. All clips I inserted were placed in the V1 timeline which showed all the clips in one sequence which made it easier to edit. Originally the spacing on the clips were smaller so you could see all of them at once, however I decided to make them bigger to see an image in order to make it easier when cutting any clips down during the entire process.  The box in left corner allowed me to pre-view my clips before entering them into the sequence. For the beginning clips I wanted to add an effect over the top, as you can see the two clips look different. In comparison, the right side has a grey tint which I was able to do through the use preview. Theorists Of Narrative

Narrative is about a tale, a story, recital or facts. It's the way in which a story is told in both fictional and non-fictional media texts. Narrative has no right or wrong way and it can always be challenged. Narrative story refers to events you can see and those that are inferred. Voices of narrative can vary and the intention of narrative can be different for different stories. Their are multiple key theorists that have explored narrative. Tzventan Todorov-  Todorov was a Bulgarian-French historian, philosopher, structuralist literary critic, sociologist, essayist and geologist. He believed that narrative starts with an equilibrium An action or character disrupts the equilibrium  A quest to restore the equilibrium begins The narrative continues to climax Resolution occurs and equilibrium is restored Todorov also believes that narratives follow in a chronological order. Photoshop construction of main poster

At the beginning of the Photoshop process, I had already chosen the image that I wanted to use therefore it made it easier to start the overall process. The first initial step I took was fairly small and was more of a reassurance to make sure that if anything went wrong I could go back and restore the original photo. This step was creating a double layer of the original photo, by having this there throughout the process was helpful as I'm not 100% familiar with Photoshop. As the original photos lighting is bright I wanted to keep this a common theme throughout the style of the photo. To replicate this through my characters/model I used the 'patch tool' & 'spot healing tool' to retouch and brighten their completions. I tried to focus on Anya (right) as within my plot her presence is meant to be similar to an 'angel' figure. Therefore where the lighting was brighter, it could connote this to the audience.
